At Unpack Once and Done, LLC, cruising isn’t simply our business—it’s something we’ve loved for decades.

Our cruising story began with our first cruise back in the 1980s, and it didn’t take long for Doris to become fascinated with everything about cruising. What started as a hobby soon became a passion. She studied cruise lines, ships, destinations, itineraries, and ports of call—something that was pretty obvious from the ever-growing library of cruise magazines and brochures around our home!

Over the years, Doris began helping friends and neighbors plan and book their cruises. Although she had earned credentials in the travel industry, life took us in other directions and she eventually allowed those credentials to expire. But her passion for cruising never did.

The Cruise That Changed Everything

After retirement, Doris discovered a three-week cruise that looked perfect for celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. She contacted a travel agent to make the reservation, and during their conversation the agent finally said:

“You know so much about this cruise, you should be the agent!”

That simple comment planted a seed.

We began researching the travel industry, cruise agencies, and the different ways we could turn decades of cruising experience into something that would help other travelers. That research eventually led us to create Unpack Once and Done, LLC, a licensed and insured travel agency specializing in cruise vacations.

We affiliated with the Avoya Travel Network, giving our clients the advantages of a major travel network while still receiving the personal attention and service of working directly with us.

We’ve Been There

By 2018, we were both retired—and naturally, one of the first things we did was get on a cruise ship!

We sailed aboard the inaugural cruise of the Norwegian Bliss, at the time the largest passenger ship ever to transit the Panama Canal. It was another unforgettable adventure and exactly the kind of experience that reminds us why we love cruising.

Today, we use our decades of personal cruising experience to help our clients choose the right cruise, the right ship, the right itinerary, and the right stateroom for the vacation they envision.

We know that a great cruise is about much more than simply making a reservation. It’s about the experiences you have, the places you discover, the people you share them with, and the memories you bring home.
